Welcome! After
months of hard work, we have transformed and expanded
PurposefulDating.com into the new and improved
PurposefulRelationships.com. Our goal for this site is to reach as
many Christians as possible with the truth about God's will for our
relationships with each other and with Him. We also want to provide a
place for Christians to share their own experiences and knowledge with
each other. By posting on the Message Board, or submitting an article
or personal testimony, believers can provide support and encouragement
for one another. We encourage you to check out and take advantage of
all the features PurposefulRelationships.com has to offer.

This month's recommended resources:

Book:
The Splendor of His Ways: Seeing the
Lord's End in Job by Stephen Kaung.
This is an insightful
book that looks at God's purpose in the book of Job. The book explains
James' words: "You have heard
of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the
Lord is full of pity, and merciful" (James 5:11). Pros: The book is
extremely easy to follow, applicable to daily living, and is sure to
offer readers some worthwhile insight into the Christian life. This
would be a great resource for those who have been reading Job for
years, and it would also be a great introduction for those who have yet
to read this wonderful book of the Bible. Cons: The author assumes
the reader shares his understanding of the spirit and soul and does not
give very much explanation. For those unfamiliar with this view, he
defines the soul as the natural aspects of a human being--the mind,
will, and emotions. The spirit is the part of man that is regenerated
by the Holy Spirit and the "organ" with which believers commune with
God.

Website: www.loveandrespect.com
We attended a marriage seminar based
on the love and respect principles taught on this site. Both of
us have read quite a bit of material on marriage, but found the
material in this seminar to be new and refreshing. Dr. Emerson
Eggerichs and his wife Sarah teach on the often overlooked importance
of the commands to husbands and wives in Ephesians 5:33 and give a
plethora of practical
advice as how to follow these commands. (Even
though the principles
taught focus on the marriage relationship, they can easily be applied
to any guy-girl relationship.) We
highly recommend
taking the time to read a few of the basic articles on this site, or
attending a conference yourself. In our opinion, this is one site
that is well worth your time. |

Testimonies:
We want to be encouraged
by what God has done in your life! If you would like to send us a
personal testimony of how God has encouraged you, strengthened you, and
worked in your life, we would be happy to publish it in a future
newsletter. We hope to have several testimonies to put in this section
for next month's newsletter.

Relationship tip of the month: Check
your priorities. Are you spending the time you should be with God? With
your family/friends? If not, try writing out a schedule that includes
time for these relationships. If you have a hard time following the
schedule, take notice of the activities that are keeping you from being
able to spend time with God and your family/friends. Figure out what
you need to do so that these activities don't take the wrong priority
in your life. This may seem basic, but all too often the simplest
principles are the hardest to put into practice.
